The exhibition 'PorTête' focuses on the subject of the human face, a subject that has inspired artists since times immemorial. Unlike the classical portraits of the past that aimed at making a (flattering) visual record of  the appearance of the rich&famous, the portraits in this exhibition are self-portraits or portray family, friends or no-one in particular. Sometimes representational, sometimes abstract they do not do not aim at realism. Rather than creating an exact likeness of their subject, the sculptors whose work is presented in 'PorTête'  use the rich genre of portraiture to create art and express their personal artistic styles.
